What we offer

Maintenance Tank Clean

A maintenance tank clean is ideal for keeping your water tank in good condition while retaining your existing water supply.

This service focuses on vacuuming sediment and debris from the bottom of the tank while the water remains in place, ensuring your household water supply remains uninterrupted throughout the process.

Maintenance cleans are best suited to tanks that are generally in good condition and simply require routine, preventative care. Regular maintenance cleaning helps minimize sediment build-up, maintain water quality, and reduce the likelihood of unexpected issues developing over time.

Deep Tank Cleaning

A full tank clean is recommended when the walls of your tank are visibly dirty, the water quality has declined, or—most commonly—both.

Our full cleaning process begins by safely draining the existing water to a suitable area on your property. We then enter the tank using a specialized vacuum system to remove all sediment, plant matter, and any other debris that has built up over time.

Once the tank is cleared, we thoroughly water-blast the roof, walls, and floor, sanitizing all internal surfaces in the process. This restores your tank to the cleanest condition possible—without the cost of replacing it entirely.

Because of the nature of a full clean, your tank will be empty upon completion. If you would like us to arrange a water refill, we can organize this for you with no hassle.

Why Household Water Tanks Need Regular Maintenance?

Household water tanks naturally collect sediment and organic material over time. Leaves, dust, pollen, insects, and roof debris are washed into the tank during rainfall and gradually settle at the bottom.

As this build-up increases, it can affect water clarity and quality, place strain on filters and pumps, and increase the likelihood of unexpected issues. Regular tank maintenance helps keep your drinking water cleaner and safer.

To put it simply, most people wouldn’t be comfortable drinking a glass of water with visible sludge settled at the bottom — the same principle applies inside your water tank.

Routine maintenance cleaning removes settled sediment before it becomes a problem, while deeper cleaning is recommended when build-up is more significant or water quality has noticeably declined.

Many of our clients are surprised by how much sediment is removed during their first clean and choose to book regular maintenance cleans thereafter, helping prevent excessive build-up and maintain water quality year-round.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The frequency of cleaning depends on your tank size, water use, and the surrounding environment. Consider things like: is your tank fully covered? Can birds, rodents, or debris enter the tank?

    As a broad general guide:

    • Maintenance Tank Clean: every 1–2 years for most household tanks. This keeps sediment under control and maintains water quality.

    • Deep Tank Clean: every 3–5 years, or sooner if water becomes discoloured, tastes off, or there is visible sediment.

Regular maintenance helps reduce the need for a full deep clean, protects pumps, filters, and plumbing, and — most importantly — helps safeguard your water and your health.

  • Yes! After a deep tank clean, we can organise a refill so you don’t have to worry about being without water once your tank is emptied. For maintenance cleans, your water remains in the tank, so no refill is needed.

  • Keep an eye out for:

    • Cloudy or discoloured water

    • Sediment visible at taps

    • Unusual taste or odour

    • Long periods since the last clean

If any of these apply, it’s time to book a maintenance or deep clean. Early cleaning prevents small issues from becoming costly problems.

  • It depends on the type of clean you book:

    • Maintenance Tank Clean: your water supply stays connected, without water loss, only sediment at the bottom is removed.

    • Deep Tank Clean: Yes, the tank will be drained completely If you’d like, we can organise a water refill after the clean.

This ensures the cleaning is effective without compromising your household water needs.
